2020 Railway News

January 2020

After another sucessful Christmas and New Year running our focus is now on our winter works programme and engine / rolling stock maintenance.

February-March 2020

During the closed season the walling around the signal box at Rudyard station was replaced. This was a major project which involved use of external contractors.

March-July 2020

During lockdown the focus was on upgrading the track and station around Rudyard. A separate gallery will be posted later.

July 2020

After many months the railway reopened with updated carriages and new COVID secure operating and ticketing arrangements.

August-October 2020

Normal services continued throughout these months, albeit with the new COVID arrangements. Halloween trains ran as planned but only during daylight hours.

November 2020

The railway unfortunately closed again for the second lockdown and no trains ran.

December 2020

Despite the cancellation of the Santa Specials due to the tier restrictions, we ran trains most weekends in December as per our usual timetable.
