Planning A Visit
From the A523 Macclesfield Road take the B5331 signposted Rudyard and then turn left just after the railway bridge.
From the A53 from Stoke take Dunwood Lane (signposted Rudyard) and after approx 2 miles continue through the village and down the hill to the railway bridge, turning right just before it.
Look for our brown signs "Lake Railway" on the Macclesfield Road

The railway is great place for a family day out and is ideal for kids. Do bring your camera or video (or more likely your SmartPhone). Its an ideal place to visit for picnics, boating and walking as well as steam train rides. We do birthday parties for all ages and especially for children.
The railway is dog friendly with water available for your Pet. Dogs are allowed on the trains provided they are on a lead and accompanied by well behaved owners.
When you arrive take seat on the train and we will collect your fare and issue your ticket before the train goes. No prior booking is needed except for Santa Trains and birthday parties.
There is a toilet at Rudyard Station for railway and cafe customers only. Public toilets are at the Dam.
