2022 Railway News

January 2022

The new year started with the annual trackwork maintenance works, with the area around The Dam seeing the main focus. Work also commenced on the annual checkups of locomotives and rolling stock.

February 2022

Trackwork continued along with work to bring lady Jane Grey back into commercial service.

March 2022

The railway reopened onMonther's day.

April 2022

The highlight of the month was the super power weekend where LJG, KA and V all hauled fully loaded trains.

May-June 2022

Normal railway services with miscellaneous other works undertaken.

July-August 2022

Our main season with trains every day. Work continued on various maintenance jobs and upgrade of The Dam.

September-October 2022

The steam gala was a great sucess with 10 engines in steam. Halloween was run with additional lighting on the trains and at The Dam.

November 2022

Redevelopment of P2 cafe commenced with demolition and clearance of the old life expired building.

December 2022

Our coldest ever Santa trains with a frozen lake and frozen water and toilets at the station. Unfortunately a lot of trains ran late but we still managed to get everyone through to see Santa!
